ASDC of Harrow
One of our main aims is to provide mutual help for people who are separated, divorced or bereaved in whatever way we can. Bear in mind that we are all in a similar situation and have all experienced the pain associated with something as drastic as marriage failure or the end of a relationship and we know only too well how different life becomes as a result.
Our meetings offer a very informal atmosphere, where members can socialise and feel part of a welcoming group. The meetings take place on the first Monday of each Month. We also have social events.
We issue a monthly newsletter. This helps our members to 'belong', for this we charge an annual subscription of £5 (to cover postage); in addition we ask for 50p at our meetings to cover the cost of tea and coffee. We hold a raffle each month to raise funds.
At our monthly meetings we usually have guest speakers, whose talks on issues unrelated to Divorce are usually followed by questions and lively discussion. Before and after this there is the opportunity to talk in smaller groups, so that individual ideas or problems can be talked over informally.
We have various social events and outings. We sometimes go out for meals together.. We have also had a number of short trips to places abroad such as Holland, Spain and Italy. We also have a Group Mass each year, and Stations of the Cross in Lent
We are a friendly, sociable group. A lot of us have become close friends over the years. Our aim is one of self-help. There is always a shoulder to lean on, a sympathetic ear; your problem is our problem - our strength is being one family. Do join us! We realise that first big step is a nervous time so bring a friend along for support.

The Harrow branch of the ASDC was formed in 1987 ( We recently
celebrated our 18th Birthday. We belong to the national ASDC network which was founded in Manchester in 1981. We cover a large area of West London, from Heathrow & Hounslow to Harrow Weald and beyond.
